Thoughts on P5N-T Deluxe

Thread Starter
My good 'ole and trusty P5B-Deluxe got killed by lightning about 2 weeks ago.

Now Asus wants to upgrade me to a P5N-T Deluxe.

It looks like a hella nice board...but the reviews are terrible....

Mine bricked yesterday after a crash during a "ROM/SIP table update"

The latest official BIOS(1001) still has a bug in it which makes it unstable during video encoding/playback. The unofficial 1104 BIOS seems to have fixed this problem but (atleast for me) made it harder to POST when tweaking OC settings. Like not POSTing when cold but stable once in Windows.

I think most bad reviews came from the early BIOSes, things were better lately. But for many it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

I guess it's a good board if you aren't going to tweak the OC settings alot.

My next will be either a XFX or EVGA 780i or 790i board.

It's a solid board, decent OC capabilities but won't get you as much if you have a low multi CPU. I didn't know about the encode bug though...
