Dude, this thing RAPES games. It's a marked improvement over my 8800GTS in damn near every game I play!

With the horsepower this thing brings, it's obviously a driver issue holding it back in 3dmark. Quite frankly, I don't care if they ever fix it.

So why are you telling me I should return it?

So that is cool any words of advicetipstricks when using that?
From my experience, the auto-tune is pretty worthless. It took nearly 10 minutes to find a proper overclock setting, then proceeded to freeze the first time I entered a game.

I stick to an overclock of 645mhz CORE, 1045mhz MEM. Until we can get the fanspeed issue resolved, that's where it's limited stability wise.

How much better do these run compared to an 8800GT? 20% better performance.

Also, for people that have the ASUS card (that can change the fan speed) or running the fans at 100%, how loud is it?

Hmm

I picked up the Sapphire 4850 today !

Upgraded from a old 8800GTS 640mb.

It seems to handle AA better. Gained probably 10-20 fps on games.

Running at 1680x1050.

Yes the Fanspeed is a issue atm.

MY idle temps are fine 48-50.

But load temps worry me a bit 70-80.

The stock fan speed is like 10-20% lol..

Plus I cant change it with Riva Tuner

Benny,

Have you found a listed safe temp anywhere? I seem to remember some suggested it was well past 100*. I can't wait to play games a full eye candy!

70-80 is high but yea 100 is normally the threshold.

Once new version of Riva tuner is released which will allow you to overclock and change fan speeds the temps should be a lot lower.
