Phenom VS Opteron - Page 2

I am trying to decide the same thing, but I'm leaning toward the Phenom 9950. It just seems like an all around good chip. No Intel chip compares to it on Newegg for either price or performance.

Old thread is old.

You should probably make a new thread here Rokit, threads are old news after a few weeks here.

Welcome to OCN.

The Opteron Budapest K10 1354, 2.2Ghz ...( SOCKET F 1207) -Reading as a barcelonia.

440-GT
3-SATA 160GB RAID = 0
DUALx2 PSU 700 Total on a Balanced Load (HDD INDEPENDANT).
8 inch 12V DELL CASE FAN

I run most games on Med/High (Unless its poor programming.)
Aliens vs predator 3 DX11
Call of duty modern warefare 3
Rage
Skyrim
All the ones that came out last XMAS

All caches are reading LEVEL 1-3 Cache.

Compatible with a Few am2+ Quad core motherboards.
The socket F 1207 by design Utilized the MCP, The northbrige Processes usally unload to the CPU . (If you upgrade you can unload processes by adding sound card and video card, Network card.)-This will free up the CPU to gaming... WAIT! No Northbridge Support to overclock the CPU on most Boards OR DDR3 support on any of them.

The CPU Runs Very Nice Plays all new games nice and to par with a 450GT for a well balanced cheap system. I have uploaded every K10 utility and overclocker My board does not support a flexible clock rate or its a preset value in the pll which doesnt exist.

Has 375

1) 100% Software support, NO gaming problem all instruction sets are present .

2)The CPU ability to communicate is a Pro' not a con like most say. They game well.
