Alright, well... I have been running this WU for about a week.... It still hasn't completed.

Is anyone else running this WU, completed it, or otherwise skipped or stopped it?
I don't think it is because of a lack of processing power, because nothing else runs on the computer other then XChat, and sometimes firefox.

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
9259 gh0 39 19 15992 2124 1104 R 93 0.2 1058:25 FahCore_82.exe

That is basically what you are looking at, pretty high use on the CPU, so I don't think it should be running for an entire week.

Any thoughts.

Not much of a WU.. 119.3 points.

Why you're not running the SMP client? You have a dual core CPU, so SMP is much more efficient.

However, this WU should be done by now. It should take less than a day (quite a bit less I might add). Any idea about the progress of that thing (Fahmon? The F&H Terminal Interface?)

I'd start over, and install the SMP client though. You'll get many more points.

FAHMon for linux I have yet to be able to work, I tried downloading my package, but it doesn't do anything.

On my current sig rig, I run the GPU2 Client.

I will edit it with the complete one week log...

Though, I have noticed, that Linux SMP says I have completed 73, while F@H stat servers say i have completed 126.

It seems to me that you didn't run the client with the -smp flag. The WU you just finished isn't a SMP WU. The Linux client isn't an SMP client per se. It does both SMP and non-SMP WUs, and it needs to be told to do SMP by adding the -smp flag.

Here is what it says when I try to run ./fah6 - smp :

Quote:
[gh0@HPBOX Folding]$ ./fah6 -smp

Note: Please read the license agreement (fah6 -license). Further
use of this software requires that you have read and accepted this agreement.

This client only supports 64-bit linux machines. Your machine was detected as ''.

Folding@Home Client Shutdown.
[gh0@HPBOX Folding]$
Now, if you are talking about the assembly option in config, that is enabled.

Here is the full log of that time:

According to the log, it took about 20 hours for that WU. Not sure where you got 'a week' from. I have a feeling it might have punched out a bunch of these in a week. Note that the client only reports the total number of WUs that you ran since the last installation of the client, while Stanford's site lists ALL WUs you ever did under your folding name (even those on another machine years ago).

And regarding SMP: I guess you're running 32-bit linux? If you can, get a 64-bit distro. And in case you do have 64-bit linux, make sure you have each and every update.

Well, for some odd reason, I thought I had installed Linux 64 Bit for my computer, it should be able to run it:

Quote:
Linux HPBOX 2.6.24.5-desktop586-2mnb #1 SMP Thu Jun 12 14:26:44 EDT 2008 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz GNU/Linux
However, it didn't. I also don't really feel like reinstalling. So I guess, I will have to live with it until the time comes that it needs to be formatted and installed again.
