Don't be mean, I'm 17 and built my rig with my own money.

Looking at reviews and stuff i can say Sli GT will be on pair or a bit better then 4870 but when Sli doesn't work well then 4870 will dominate.

If anyone can find on, I'd be interested

this one puts the 4870 as 132% performance of the GT in 3DM06 and this one puts SLI GTs about 150% compared to a single one at higher resolutions (you can view all the different tests not just the page I linked)
You should find some benches as of late tonight. And I did see somewhere 4870 vs 2 x 8800GT SLI and it was close... I am trying to find where I saw the bench at... If I find I will post...

Also selling my 2 eVGA 8800GT SSC cards as of right now on here wanting a 4870 tell the 4870 X2 comes out..

I'd go with 2x 4870, not the 4870x2. I would read to see which one is better first though.

In a recent Custom PC magazine, there is an SLI article, where they pair-up a whole bunch of cards in SLI & Crossfire. From memory, the section on the 8800GT basically said that two of them suck. Take from that what you will

I'm considering an upgrade to 2x 9800GX2 or 2x GTX280. Mostly because I'm planning to go from 1680x1050 to 1920x1200 pretty soon with a Dell 2408. Already having 2x 8800 GTS G92s, I can tell you that they're a pretty mean pair in SLI, and extremely good value right now. Highly recommended on a budget

According to that new benchmark that was posted, 88GT sli is doing pretty damn good. It can hold it's own against 4850 CF, and can beat a 280GTX.
