I agree with you. But I still hate Sapphire. And I hate ATI drivers in general, although both Windows and Linux drivers have been improving recently.

To be honest ATI pretty much curb stomped Nvidia on this release. Nvidia is spewing filth and dropping prices like it is going out of style in some twisted form of damage control.

the thing is though even on the 55nm proccess, by luck GT200 might like the 55nm a lot better and better yields. But if Nvidia already had enough time to die shrink their die shrink G92 and their still too chicken to release some 55nm becase their afraid of bad yields.

ATI jumped the gun on 55nm, they lucked out thats all.

Even if nVidia lowers its pricing so that it can compete with ATI, I still doubt they will have a chance of winning, they'll need to make a new card with good yields and good speed.
and x1950XTX's GDDR4 memory pretty much blew everything away. Nvidia quickly made the 7950GX2 similar to why ATI made the 3870x2. Of course SLI blew at that time.

remember amd's 6000+ was first priced at like $600? a month later it dropped to under 200.

I say let the price war begin, We need this ATI is winning the price to performance flying around the net. Nvidia have no choice in the end but to match it or better it or there market will slowly fall to ATI. i hope we see a strong and intense battle come from both company's for many years to come.

With this battle regardless of who is winning ATI or Nvidia the consumer will all ways win.

Hmm. At the current point in time I'm gunning for ATi, however I refuse to do my new build for a good period of time in order to wait for Nehalem to push prices lower on the current proccesors and go for a Skulltrail, or perhaps Nehalem build. Hopefully this refusal to upgrade proves as a graphics strategy to, given the intense battle between the Green Machines and the Red Tide.

Cost to performance ratio. AMD/ATI win hands down. Plus the new 48xx series cards basically evened up the game if you ask me.
