So I have a GTX 260 in my posession and now I am overclocking it - Page 11

I do not have WIC. Is it worth getting?

*EDIT* This darn thing is the little chip that could!!! The clocks just keep going up and up. I am at 750 core 1502 shaders 1250 memory right now. I think I'm going to stop because I'm kind of scared lol. This is getting insane. ATI tool stable at 5 minutes. I'm going to let it run for about 30 while I take a shower and then come back and see how it went. If it goes well I might up the clocks a bit more. I think I can get more out of the memory. I don't think ATI tool is missing anything wrong happening in the card because when I get the core and shader clocks spread too far apart I get massive artifacts so it seems to be doing its job. If I slowly bump up the core and the shader at the same time keeping them both in a certain range from each other I am able to go pretty high. I normally keep the shader and core linked, but right now they are unlinked. It works much better but it's more work.

The card started at 590/1296/999.

*EDIT AGAIN* Ok something is definitely wrong with ATI Tool here. I ran it for 20 minutes at 761/1525/1303 and it was fine but when I tried Vantage Extreme preset I was getting like 1 FPS lol. So it appears as though ignoring the warnings from ATI Tool about incorrect kernals was probably not a good idea. O well.

I went for a suicide run at 810/1779 linked clocks and ATI tool didn't even stutter lol. There must be something wrong. GPU Z reads the correct clocks when I change them, but ATI tool is not detecting artifacts anymore. I am not sure what is going on.

*EDIT x3* I think I am not getting out of 2D mode for some reason... Maybe a driver issue. I'll have to investigate.

Might've gone a bit too far? I'm keeping mine at 715/1485/1225 Maybe bump it up a teensy bit more but I'll be super uncomfortable with anything else.

You should def. try to fix that kernel issue.

I think I was running an old version of ATI Tool. I found version .27b4 a beta 4 client and it seems to be working. No kernal error and it is reading my clocks properly. I will fiddle with this for awhile.

For some reason my GTX 260 didn't work with beta 4

those cpu scores in vantage make me weep! My secondary setup with crossfire 4850's would be owning face with a 30k cpu score! my gpu score in vantage on the performance preset is like 12k (without any overclocking), but my cpu score is like 8k. =o(
