It seems that this round, the ATI cards are very efficient at utilizing the available memory. Even with 512Mb, it still beats the GTX260 (with 448Mb) according to the expreview article.

LOL

I really don't know what I'm going to do with it at this point. I am planning on getting a CrossFire motherboard, but that will only be when the 790GX/SB750 chipset comes out so I can get ready to make the move to a 45nm Phenom. I'm hoping the boards aren't that far away from launching because I do want to see what happens if I CF them, but I'll probably end up selling it

Last I read (which I believe was May), AMD is still saying they're on track for Q4 of this year. This may only be referring to the Opterons though, I'll have to check.

Will do

EDIT: 2.8GHz Phenom @ 45nm will be the one I'm thinking I'll go for (if these are the ones based on Shanghai, if they aren't I might end up waiting longer). I hope it's a Black Edition

Expect AMD's Phenom lineup to grow considerably before the year is through. Citing its usual sources at Taiwanese motherboard makers, DigiTimes reports that AMD will unveil low-power triple-core, low-power quad-core, faster quad-core, and 45nm quad-core Phenoms in the second half of this year.

In chronological order, DigiTimes says AMD will first roll out 1.9GHz Phenom X3 8250e and 2.1GHz Phenom 8450e processors in mid to late August. Both CPUs will have three cores and 65W thermal envelopes, and they'll be joined by a quad-core, low-power Phenom X4 9350e later in the third quarter. The following quarter, AMD will reportedly strike again with a Phenom X4 9950 clocked at 2.6GHz.

That's not all. DigiTimes says AMD also plans to unleash its first 45nm Phenoms by the end of the fourth quarter. There will be two chips, with clock speeds sitting between 2.4GHz and 2.8GHz. AMD will follow up in the first quarter of 2009 with more 45nm Phenoms, this time clocked between 2.3GHz and 2.6GHz. DigiTimes doesn't say how AMD intends to price any of the aforementioned chips, though.
