I need help with IHS on my E4300

I am planning to remove my IHS, then replace the thermal paste in between the IHS and the die with AS5, do you guys think it will help with temps?

If youre going to take it off, just leave it off. That would help the most.

Don't try it. Most IHS's on E4xxx series are soldered, with the exception of some which are epoxied on. It's a good chance you're going to destroy your processor.

Wow, that was fast!
Well, my CPU is a 05A which is supposed to be greased, but thanks guys! I am gonna take off my IHS, but I just don't want to crush the core.
And recommendation or instructions to prevent crushing the core?
I have an AC freezer 7 pro cooler.

Thanks Gigabyte!
Should I put electrical insulation tape on the border of my CPU so that it acts like a shim?

Get it even on all sides and it will work good, may take some time with getting it to the right height and such.

Oh, how is the processor going to get enough pressure to touch the pins from the socket?
I am pretty sure that My cooler might not touch the die, or not tight enough to make a full contact with die

It might, give it a try. If it doesn't you will need a screw down type cooler such as the Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme, Thermalright Big Typhoon or Tuniq Tower 120. Any screw down type will easily work as all you need to do is screw it down a little tighter, once you got whatever you are using as a shimy at the correct height you can even stand the tower up like normal and it should be fine, if not you can lay it down and gravity will do a nice job keeping the CPU down on the pins.

I tried getting the IHS off, but it was too hard, and I was too scared because my blade accidentally slipped and scraped the side and I am too scared to risk the trace from breaking.
Thanks guys!
