I need help with IHS on my E4300 - Page 2

Hey guys, I am back again
I de-IHSed a Celeron socket 478 easily, in 2 minutes, I fully removed the IHS, but on this CPU, the sides of IHS is stuck on tight, I can't even slip the thinnest blades into it. any tips? or am I unlucky because Intel glued my super tight?

I have done it to not one, but 2 e2180's. First one I broke and saw where I had barely cut the chip under the side of the IHS. The other I tried my best to be extremely careful, and ended up breaking that one too. I still have that one and it looks perfect, no marks on it anywhere that I can see, but it does not work. Taking it off, you have to use A LOT of pressure to get a blade under one side, once you do that you can work your way around and get the whole thing to come off.

Guess what guys? I sliped the blad on every of the corner, and still won't go in, just won't budge, then I took it out and saw some copper exposed on the PCB (oops!), now I know that I scraped the PCB, and more tips?

what you want to do is put the middle of the blade on the corner of the cpu, pretty much flat, and use a lot of force but be careful and sort of saw up and down. Usually after a few goes it will slip through and you will have one corner done. Never use the corners of the blade, and always start at a corner and cut down a side using firm force.

So, I have to use lot of force, eh?
it is still working. I put the middle of the blades towards the corner.
I dunno or something, I might be too weak to handle the strength, I am a 14 year old.
but removing Celeron s478 was soo much easier, on celeron, it took me 1 minute to take it off.
looks like intel did spend lots of time on IHS
