Good to hear that the Radeon 4870 performs up to the expectation
It will be an excellent card if it will be sold for ~$300

Also the GTX280 is well underperforming, while the 9800GTX SLI rocks for $400

Lol...

Back on topic, I can understand that yes, you're "loyal" to your company, blah blah. But when you can get TWO of company A's best product that performs just as well as Company B's best product for cheaper, what sense does it make to spend more for 10% performance?

All I care about is that if I can play on medium-high to all high or max settings for the cheapest, I'm going that route. Screw loyalties for companies, they just want your money and you're another statistic for them.

i notice in a couple of games at higher res, the 9800 GTX+ wins..
some sites do 2560x1600, or 1920x1200, so i think the 4870 will beat the gtx+ just fine at 1680x1050.

A valid point is made. The 9800GX2 seems to be a really good buy.

8800GT, 9800GTX+, and the 9800GX2 are all really good buys at their price point.

The 4850 and the 4870 are also really good buys.

First off, I know that these new cards aren't meant to be in direct competition with the 8800GTS(G92), but why don't they ever include them along with the benchmarks in single and SLI configs. They always include the 8800GT and GTX, but why not the GTS.

Anyway, looks like ATI is getting a lot better, too bad I would need to get a new PSU in order to upgrade to any of the new cards, even though I plan on getting a bigger one sometime soon.

well, it looks like im keeping my 9800GX2s... i was thinking about getting 4870X2s but not if they perform like 2 4870s in X-fire, they are pretty close in most of those tests to a single 9800GX2.

Duh, 2 GPU's vs 2 GPU's.. I'd expect the 4870x2 in CF to beat the 9800GX2 in SLi.
