What's the catch?

I saw this board on Newegg, and I'll admit in advance that I'm a total noob at PC hardware. But... A board with Crossfire, PCIe 2.0, 1200mhz DDR2 support, Huge FSB, and apparently great overclocking ability for $150, I'd like to know what's the catch?

Nothing pretty good boards are usually $150 and up. Read the reviews though to see what people who actually have the board have to say about them.

It only runs x8 x8 in CF, not a great clocker from what I've heard.

Thanks... But maybe I should reword that. There are board out there in the 2-300's range that *seem* to have nearly the exact same specs as this one here. For example, compared to a 780i, or a Maximus Extreme, what am I missing?

Odd, because all of the reviews state how easy it is to OC with this board.

For example: one reviewer stated that he reached 3.6ghz on a Q6600... That's pretty damn high.

Take user reviews with a grain of salt. People have a tendancy to rate their technical knowledge higher than it actually is. There was one person on there that said their video card was super fast because it had a 40GB hard drive. Hmm...I wonder if they have a tech level of idiot?

Anyway, if you really want to know the skinny on hardware you can google some reviews or you can ask around here. Chances are if it's for sale an OCN member has used it and abused it.

Based on those methods you should be able to make an informed decision.
