Alright well uhh my mobo has a bios problem it seems to have gotten alzheimer's
my settings in bios are fine yet my clock speeds are setting to default 266x9 2.4 ghz no matter what settings I choose and such it will not work!

Should I just dump this mobo and get a new one or does anyone know how I can fix it? I thought I had gotten it working before but now its acting up again..... Don't really have the money to do this bs but if I have to use 2.4 ghz I don't even wanna bother with this system haha. Gigabyte

You remember to disable Speedstep, EIST, C1E, or whatever term your bios uses?

Yeah as always.

EDIT:: Ok from what I can tell the system is ignoring what seems to be the cpu clocks .
My memory timings and voltages are fine the fsb is the problematic one...

Does the boot go through two cycles ?, it starts up for a short while and then restarts ? If so, its rejecting your overclock. Your timings too tight, unstable voltage ... ETC.

CPU Enhanced Halt(CIE): Disabled
CPU EIST Function: Disabled

Dont bother with software OC.

Heh the software was just a test and yes the EIST and all that is disabled and its not doing the bios reset cycles its just all around ignoring the settings.. Thats the only thing I can come up with for an example..

Weird eh.

Does your clock keep resetting when you reboot? could be battery if so.

Update or reflash the BIOS with floppy and retry.

Nope clock is functioning proper and I've tried reflashing twice before posting was meaning to mention it but forgot. I guess I'm gonna just try and get some money for a new board as I think this ones got a low fsb limit anyways... Gonna try a 30 minute cold boot again like mentioned from other people I think it may have worked last time but it didn't work last night ...
