OcUk always seem to be great at their ex VAT versus competitor's inc VAT prices.

£234. Price premium is way too high, even for OCUK. Glad I saw Ebuyers price earlier, because I may have impulse bought from OCUK.

Yeah, the OcUK price is much more but they do have them genuinely in stock, I noticed in the Ebuyer thread that they don't actually have them in stock for another, what was it? 10 to 18 days? Whereas with OcUK you could order right now and have it tomorrow.

Immediacy hurts your wallet, sometimes more than others...

Hey, just registered so I could say, this card should be more like £150 after a week or so when everybody has them.

Do yourselves a favour and dont touch Over****ers, if anything goes wrong with your card, (spesh as these are first batch) they are AWFUL at sorting it out, I was charged and the x1950 was sent back twice before they replaced it, and then I got a crummy cheapo card in replacement. It blows hot air on the memory and shortly after a memory stick developed faults in memtest. GRR!

Seriously dont go there!

XENOS.

Well I have no benchies to offer however the 4870 is one VERY nice card and im sure does well compared to the 3870X2...not only that but the 4000 series no longer get a performance hit when AA is enabled...thats all cleared up now.

Sorry to hear of your problems with them.

However I have to disagree with the price argument. I would say the card will stay at atleast the £180 mark for a while...any further drops would be unlikely until another product comes out or if ATI need to competet even further with Nvidia and personally I cannot see Nvidia being able to afford to drop too much more than they have already.

Yes maybe £150 was a bit too low, this card is loaded with GDDR5 after all. I would be inclined to purchase at about the £170 mark I think.
