Yes. Integrated memory controller is hardly going to work in a board where the north bridge has the MC.

..what does the memory bus have to do with I/O? Memory is on the card, never touches PCI-E.

If so, please correct me.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see why now. It's because of HyperThreading, something that reminds me of my old P4 in my laptop. XD So, four physical core, but eight threads? This brings performance up by around 50% clocked around 40% slower? Damn.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
It is wrong, it doesn't work like that. There was an article on this around the time PCIe 2.0 was launched and everybody was making a big deal. I can't remember where it was though. Maybe somebody could find it?

exactly.

and speaking of clock. everyone that's previewed nehalem keeps saying how they've seem them running at clocks faster than any yorkfield they've ever seen. that includes 4Ghz+. think about that....

I think I'm going to wait until these new chips come out. Anyways, I've been living with my crappy Compaq for years, another half year or so won't make much of a difference. XD

it's a good idea to start saving. x58 + $300-$350 entry level nehalem + triple-channel ddr3 isn't going to be cheap.

I doubt Nehalem in general will clock that high. Previewed chips are always hand picked and Nahalem is much more complex compared to Core 2.
