Air Conditioner for your case? - Page 2

Your saying that it doesn't vent out the exhaust? If I my eyes are correct, I did see a vent port on the bottom of this AC unit that blows the hot air underneath the case. If your case didn't have one, you could easily cut one.

That Sytrin that was linked had a supposed "cooling output" of 120W, but only consumes 52W? Yeah...okay.

Let's say it worked. Any words on condensation?

Condensation is not an issue. (at least not in this scenario)

Ya, there are more cons, than pros for this. Hell with it, lol

Lol I have no central air, our house is to old, we have radiators for heaters and window ACs...

If you believe the specs, that TEC A/C unit moves around 140 BTUs which I seriously doubt.

Anyway... For an AC unit to be worthwhile, it would need to be like 1000+ BTUs. It would cool the case but exhaust its heat back into the room. Your room temp would rise. Since the case A/C unit is in your room, it's performance would drop as room temp rose. Therefore you would need a case A/C unit and a room A/C unit (or large fans). For a case A/C unit to be worthwhile, you would need to make sure it vented the exhaust outside the room. However, direct phase CPU cooling would be at least a magnitude more effective.
Once again...

Thats a sweet idea!

Only if it managed to build up humidity and was able to cool the components below the dew point(obviously the cases internal dew point/temp)... As weak as that puny unit is I doubt condensation is possible.

If the entire case is being cooled then there won't be any condensation because the temp of the boards will still be hotter than the temp of the air.
