might need a different psu

so far my current build is this

Q9450
8 gb of ddr2 memory
HD 4870
750 gb hard drive
around 7 fans
dvd burner
floppy drive
fan controller

will a Corsair 520HX be able to handle all this (might add another 4870 or 4850 when prices go down...)

if not i'll get a Corsair 620HX
Go for the HX620. And with two 4870's, even that might not be enough.

Do you insist on a modular PSU?

it'd be nice...cant really have cables dangling around in my case as there's pretty much nowhere to hide them...

price is sort of an issue too....the psu cant be more than $150 - $160

This one is at the high-end of your budget, but a nice PSU:

And I have heard good things about this Zalman:

Although I haven't done my own research on that unit yet.

For a single card solution, the Corsair 520 should be fine...but if you want to CF you're going to need to look at very high out-put PSU's like something in the 1k range (4870's still eat up a lot of power, even idling).

also i'm kinda worried about psu size... because my nzxt lexa has a 80mm vantec tornado at the top of the case and it looks like some psu's wouldn't fit because of it...

also there's probably a good chance i might not do crossfire with another 4870, most likely just a 4850 and a 4870. but if i do get two 4870 then i'll probably have enough money for a new psu to support them

i also have only heard good things about the zalman ZM750-HP, but that's just what i've heard.

this antec (not modular) but also good:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371009

should be able to support CF

Actually, you might want to look out for the Zalman. I'm not arguing with its impeccable quality, if you look at the dimensions, the unit is rather...rectangular. If you're working with a certain amount of space, that PSU is not for you.
