I know nothing about encoding but....does the GPU fan spin faster or the temps go up dramatically?

Lol

Ironically, I never heard my fan speed up unless I turned it up.

some are automatic... I have no idea how intensive encoding that uses the GPU is so sorry if that was a naive comment .

Well, I think there was some NVIDIA or ATI tool that let you monitor the usage... but you can just look at the temps.

Even if it's not doing much, there's still gonna be a 5C increase minimum.

I wasn't laughing at you, I was laughing at the fact that on stock cooling the 8800GT do get real hot real fast. My card is hot to the touch but the fan speed never goes past 29 percent. I dunno why though when it's set to automatic. But I can set it to 100 when ever I want. Like right now it's at 59C and All I was doing was watching an episode of bleach. for about an hour.

If i play TF2 I'm sure my temps hit around 65-70 since I have AA maxed out, and AF at 4x.

I get artifacting past 58c but I idle at 39c. I didnt think 8800gts were supposed to run that cool.

AHAHHAHA who are they kidding!
Oh that's right, they are kidding the old and the stupid.

Because if you know anything about encoding is that parsing and resizing featureless 1080p into ipod resolutions it doesn't take a whole lot of power, yes it does take throughput and pre-fetch of files\\data, but to say WOW 4 1080p stream encodes to JOKE Resolutions is a frigging hit yourself in the face and say I'm a noob falling over backwards with my underpants on my nose.
