it wont boot if i force a voltage onto it, i have to leave it on auto. its doing 3.8ghz @ 1.28v currently

My Gigabyte P35-DS3R cant boot at over around 440..and it certainly aint stable at it....i run at about the highest it is 100% stable

I do have to say you seem to be very well off money wise, so your common motherboard is probably a $200 motherboard. When I said common motherboard I meant <$80 or so.

The DS3L in my sig would be one. I couldn't for the life of it get it to boot with higher than a 400Mhz FSB. And what do you know, I pup the same Q6600 in a IP35 Pro and it can hit about a 468Mhz FSB and be stable.

Edit: I was talking about with the Q6600 that is now in this rig.
