Mushkin Redline vs. 8500

Thread Starter
Just about to order me 4 sticks of one of these:

Redline Ascent XP2-8000 996623 (Dual Pack) $120.65

996623 - 2 x 2GB DDR2 5-5-5-12 XP2-8000 2 @ $120.65 $241.30
Freight - FedEx Express Saver$5.99
Total: $247.29

Ascent XP2-8500 996619 (Dual Pack) $143.43

996619 - 2 x 2GB DDR2 5-5-5-15 XP2-8500 2 @ $143.43 $286.86
Freight - FedEx Express Saver$5.99
Total: $292.85

I found a 10% discount coupon which give the prices above. Hopefully I don't get DOA sticks cause I don't live in the states and I'm getting a friend to bring it over for me.

Anyone have any comments, pros/cons before I take the plunge?

I actually just read a review on the 4GB kit. They compared it to 2GB of Corsair XMS Dominator XMS2-8500 Domintor RAM.

The Mushkin offering didn't really show an advantage until overclocked to 1146. It actually performed substantially better there than it did at 1120.
