I just started reading about this lapping process I am doing this tomorrow after a trip to wally world to pick up sandpaper

Kratthew D. Kraids did the lapping works for you i also want to do this with my phenom 9950 but i haven't seen many AMD lappers

Lapped my X2 5000 BE, and it was obviously concave.

I am sure it helps out my temps just a bit(along with a lapped cooler).

my 9850 was lapped and really not flat. Worked good and temps dropped a lil.

Lapping the processor and the waterblock will drop temps by an average of 3-5 degrees. It's fun to do! When the right hand gets tired, use the left LOL

To tell how flat it is, get a small piece of glass. Put a drop of water on it amd press the glass on it. You will see on the glass if it is not flat.
