It's not the heat that kills the CPU, it's the volts.

damn...1.8v.....tha's alot for it......i hit 4.0GHz @ 1.68v, was in vista for like 30 seconds then BSOD......i can actually get it to stay in vista @ 3.8 with 1.5v.....core temp reports 58 56 48 49 idling......it's fast.....i can tell a difference from 3.6....not sure if it's worth the chip tho.....i think i'm gonna keep saving for QX9650

But that is not what I'm asking for... What settings do you think I might be able to clock it to 4GHz?

there is no such thing as sertain setting....every board has different emotional problems.....you have to keep playing with it intil you get it stable enough to not BSOD......i can boot to 4.4GHz @ 1.6v and it'll just keep restarting......now @ 450 x 8multi x 1.450v, turn off all the crap in cpu config setting in BIOS(speed step, disable bit etc, loadline calibration turn on, everything on auto, memory timing manual @ 7-7-7-20 @ 2.2v......thats like 3.61GHz @ 1800FSB....perfectly stable.....idles @ 39C.......

lower multiplier = higher fsb = faster bus = faster ram

example:

400fsb x 8 = 3200mhz cpu
400fsb x 2 = 800mhz ram
400fsb x 4 = 1600mhz bus

356fsb x 9 = 3204mhz cpu
356fsb x 2 = 712mhz ram
356fsb x 4 = 1424mhz bus

Both are about 3200mhz but the one with 400 fsb and a lower multiplier would overall be faster.

OK, so running 9x will be slower, even with the same CPU clock? (9 * 400 = 3,6 is slower than 8 * 450?)
