Which card should I get?

Hi I found an ad for someone selling an evga 8800gt for only $100. Should I buy this, or save up another hundred for a 9800 gtx or 4850? I currently game at 1280x1024 but I'm probably going to get a 20-22 inch monitor soon. My mobo supports sli, so I could always buy another 8800gt for cheap later on. What should I do?

get the 8800GT and add another one later on! You can enjoy tremendous performance right away, and you can probably pick up a second one (used) for even cheaper). This is a deal you shouldn't pass on.

Is it the 512mb or 256mb version? If it is 512mb version, it is a good deal. For 20/22 inch or 1280x1024, 8800GT is fine that. It will be a big upgrade from your 8600GT.

512mb and the ssc edition, not that overclocking is difficult, but it's still nice.

Get it. NOW! Otherwise I will (if I knew where.. )

and you probably don't need aftermarket cooling anyways.

S1 is around $25 to $30 depending on where you get it.
