I finally got my motherboard back from rma (8 weeks.... Dear god....)

Getting down to business i build my machine.
I got to 2.75 ghz with no problem, and im shooting for 3. I used gigabytes integrated software for temp monitoring and things looked okay. It hit 53 after 20 minutes of prime 95, but i decided to run core temp for a second option, it says i was in high 60's. See attachment for details.

So who should i trust? Gigabyte or core temp?

(Maybe i should re-seat my Tuniq...)

The best policy is to always trust the highest readings (since all temperature monitoring software aren't 100% accurate). I would trust Core Temp in your case

core temp is usually the most trustworthy. You may also want to just get a reading at idle from both, and then compare them to what your bios says. That way you can tell which is more accurate in your case.

Good point.
My Bios says 31 idle and gigabyte says 31 idle.
Core temp still worries me a bit though, ima keep an eye on them.
Thanks mega_option101 and Big O

Any thoughts on Everest? Only reason I like it is because it works with my G15 haha... I havent heard anything bad about it yet.

w000t!
3ghz!
Thats been my goal since i first learned about overclocking!
The temps are about 50 on load and 40 on idle, i ran 3dmark and got 6261, which is 1000 more then my old record.
I lowed ti back to 2.6 for now, i get kinda worried when my machine is that hot. xD

Yay for everything!
