No, 800 - 1000 or so will be fine like stated above. Your RAM frequency is 400 because your FSB will be (400 x 4 = 1600) and your RAM is DDR2, double data rate, so it will only be 400 x 2 = 800. So your Quad's FSB will be 1600 (400 x 4), and your quad will be running at 3.6GHz (400 x 9) and your double data RAM will be at 800 (400 x 2)

Same concept. DDR3 just has higher frequencies. It is still only double data rate.

i am ****ing confused.. ok so.. If ddr3 is still double data rate but higher frequencys.. if i bought a 1800mhz kit and ran the FSB of say 450 (4ghz on the cpu) 450x2=900.. so if i ran a 2:1 ratio.. i would be getting 1800mhz on the ram??
