The 3 versions of it coming out are the prices of the 9450/9550/X9650 respectively, same clocks too I believe(?). But, amazingly fast - so it'll mean new board/Proc/Ram - more excuses for the wife to leave me - same old story lol.

Now is probably the worst time to buy anything being so close to a huge release, really pisses me off
Oh man, this makes me want to wait too, but with all the new releases of the video cards, it's so tempting!!! I mean, I waited over two months just for those cards...

I think I will wait too, probably...

Edit: Think on the bright side. DD3 prices + Hard drive prices will drop!

It's looking so far so good - I'm breaking my neck waiting on the 4870X2, thankfully the 4870's went out of stock on newegg or I would have bought two lol

Oh that's another thing... By then, the 4870x2 prices might drop.
(And they might release another card? Haha. )

I have about $1500 to use on a new desktop. I've made an agreement with my father that I would not upgrade ever again for about four years, so that's why this matters, a lot, to me.
I'm 16. I'll be 17 in Nov. So, I'll have till 21? (Lol, I would have my own job and be in college by then...)

Oh, since school will be starting again and I'm planning on doing much better this year, it could impress my father and increase my chances of getting the parts for the computer earlier?

here's the problem with that. If you take any comp sci course that's worth a damn you'll learn about Moore's law. basically, it states that cpu power doubles every 18 or so months. nehalem proc may be cutting edge now, and a huge step forward in technology and blah blah blah, but i guarantee they'll be saying the same thing in a couple of years

Yea, I know. I posted this over a month ago, but I still decided to wait. Currently, I'm waiting for the nehalem era with the new motherboards and such. DDR3 & HDD drives will drop, so how could it not be worth waiting?

I'm totally waiting.
Thanks for your reply, though.
