Building a PC for my fiance

Thread Starter
Recently her computer broke down which she used for school. This is a pc for a casual (and I mean this) gamer not heavy at all. She is mostly going to use this for surfing the web, music, and of course things that relate to school. This is my second built PC I am going for, and my first AMD PC. Go easy on me.. I kind of rushed on the pieces.

Also I have an Ultra V series 500watt ATX power supply. Would that be enough for this setup. I personally think it definitely will.

Doesn't look too bad. What's the final cost?

Sorry.

Total cost is $451.37 with an extended 2 year warranty. Should I even bother getting a warranty? Good price?

I would go with G.Skill Ram. It is cheaper and offers the same or better quality.
This would be my suggestion:
Quote:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
<$450 Build -Credit to Chozart
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Case: Rosewill R222-P-BK - $19.99
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-P31-S3G - $64.99
GPU: ASUS EN9600GSO - $109.99
PSU: FSP Group SAGA+ 450R 450W - $56.99
CPU: Intel E2160 -$70
HD: HITACHI Deskstar 7K160 160GB - $41.99
CPU Cooler: ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler $26.9
Do not get the extended warranty. Not worth it.
Here is my reasoning: They wouldn't have it if they didnt make money off of it.

Switch out the IDE optical drive for a SATA one. The ram I would go with some G.skill. Those Ballistix have had high failure rates lately.

Does she need a monitor and an OS? And are you on a budget? If so, you can get a Dell for ~$550. I bought one for my wife about 2 years ago now and it works perfectly for her. She does a lot of photo work (Photoshop Elements + other photo apps), email, and web surfing.

Why the dedicated video card? That motherboard has a built in HD3200 (while not good for gaming, is fine for everything else).
