E2160 @ 8x400 Orthos errors

Thread Starter
So, I'm overclocking my E2160 which was stable at 9x333 but I wanted to push it higher. While tweaking the FSB and voltage I kept getting BSOD when entering windows until I tried 8x400 with CPU-Z saying 1.312v I think I set it to 1.3375 or something in the BIOS, with that I am in windows with 33ºC Idle temps.

My question is this: If I can get to 8x400 then I'm past the FSB wall some people have correct?(iI'm new to overclocking.) If that's true then what's stopping me from 9x360 or 370, I even tried upping the voltage to 1.625 but with the same results. Any help is appreciated, thanks much.

EDIT: So i'm trying to stabilize 8x400 and after a few lockups i'm at 1.4v and +.2v FSB, I also loosened RAM timings from 4-4-4-12 to 5-5-5-12. Ran Orthos a few times and got FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4.

Are these settings ok? Idle i'm up to ~34ºC Load @ 65-70ºC instead of 30/55-60 Load at 9x333. Or should i just go back to 9x333 with stock voltage. Also, i've been thinking of overclocking and was wondering how much more performance I could get from a WC unit or at least how to know when i'm reaching my max. Thanks.

are you using the stock cooler? Never run this chip at 1.6v that spells death.
My chip also has trouble getting past 3ghz I can hit 3.2 but it hard locks on me. I haven't tried to mess with it cause i don't care to go any higher.

If you where to try to get higher try to set your vcore to 1.4v make sure your ram is 2.0 with proper volts and loose timings. Add +.1 to both fsb and northbridge

do not go above 1.5v don't worry about the voltage your reading its vdroop just get it stable using the least amount of vcore without going over the magic number.

Yes, stock cooler. Also edited above post to include some new results. I would love to get 3.2 stable. RAM is at 2.0 with 2.1v 1:1 with FSB.
