well, i wanted to get a top down cooler as my board's cooling is set up a bit weird.



as you can see, there is not enough room to add a fan to cool the NB HS. and when i had the stock intel HSF on, i could feel air coming through the NB HS. so a top down cooler would be better for my needs. Plus, i don't OC a huge amount (mainly i just want to push for ~3.3-3.4GHz) and a top down would be better suited for my needs.

I might just have to check out the Thermalright one then. Thanks guys for your help!

the 1264 is unbeatable price and it will beat BT, and 1284 would even perform better but higher cost.

i already linked to that review in my first post. I was confused on the differences between the 1284 and the 1264. But now i know they are the differences in the diameter of the heatpipe.
