When the majority of games being released use PhysX and not Havok or some other proprietary engine, then you can say AMD dropped the ball. Besides, there is no reason for PhysX specifically to be in Vantage, especially with there being no DX10.1 support.
I think that there should be support for Havoc, PhysX and DX10.1. And if I was going to blame anyone, then it would be FutureMark, not Nvidia.

No. Take a wild guess why.

NVIDIA can decide on it's own how to make their optimizations to benefit the games, and benchmarks' results need to reflect that. And so they try to, and NVIDIA's response was they don't optimize for tests, they do real game\\performance useful optimizations.

There shouldn't be any fuss over it. If there is go bark at another tree called AMD vs NVIDIA Thread.

Yeah I think nvidia is really playing the game unfair. Ok so they nailed it together with PhysX and succesfully pushed consumers away from the seperate PCI PhysX card, but the fact that they exchange money under the table to push devs away from DX10.1 is really the sign of a sore loss. I'm not an ATi fanboy, hell i'm even currently running a 8800GT, but ATi deserve the recognition of their terrific Image Quality design.

Fair is fair, and enough is enough. :\\

Actually GPU Physics are a little overated. Granted a GPU can do many more calculations per second that a CPU. HOWEVER a CPU of today is more than capable complex physics calculation with not much of a performance hit. Games today simply do not have the amount of physics to warrant GPU calculations as Games physics engines are just not yet that advanced.

I personally think the whole Physics processing on a GPU is overrated. However thats just me.

Wow in this thread people actually managed to get the two main points here of why this is bad. Cookie for all

Physics section is done seperatly and NOT when other gpu intensive work is going on, so NOT a indication of performance in game what so ever.

There are NO decent games that support physX and in the ones that do they are piss easy to run. UT3 runs maxed out without a problem on a 8800gt at 1680x1050, completly negating the need for any kind of PPU. Most games that support physx are about as popular as the iraq war.

That said they seem to be getting it to work with the newer stuff first, which I suppose I can understand why. No worries though your GTX will get it as well, just not right now.
I don't see it. Sorry.
