noooo!! lets get it right!

InfinityWard: Call Of Duty (pc) Call Of Duty 2 (pc, 360) Call Of Duty 4 (pc, 360, PS3)

Gray Matter Interactive: Call Of Duty: United Offensive (PC)

Treyarch: Call Of Duty 2: The Big Red One (PS2, XBOX, GAMECUBE) Call Of Duty 3 (PS3, 360) Call Of Duty: World At War (PS3,360,PC,Wii)

The only legitimate game in the main COD series that treyarch have created was Call Of Duty 3. They only had 8 months to make it using the Call Of Duty 2 engine. It was buggy and badly coded, as well as being well below par in all other sections of the game that Infinityward had previously taken to a new level. I wont expect COD: World At War to be as bad as COD3 because they've been working with the engine since infinityward started on COD4. They've had more than enough time to get it right this time around. But I think Activision have learnt that to maintain the highest quality in the main COD series (1,2,3,4) they should leave it to InfinityWard. And good on them for it.

Here is why there is no 5 in the title and there will be no longer be numbers in any of the CoD titles.

"We're getting rid of the number in Call of Duty for a very specific reason: It's because we want you to know that when you're playing Call of Duty: World at War you're playing the best shooter, the best WW2 game ever. Likewise when you're playing Modern Warfare, likewise when you play any game that will be called Call of Duty."

I think thats just an excuse for why they werent given the number title permission by activision. Who know that now the bar has been raised in the number series by Modern Warfare, they cant afford for Call Of Duty 5 to drop back down again to WWII and lose the fanbase from COD4. So for them, being able to still make money from the COD series while still maintaining the fanbase waiting for COD5 is achievable by filling in the gap for 2008 by giving a number-less title to Treyarchs game. Roll-on COD5 next year.
