sLi bridge for eVGA780i - 9800gtx

I am currently running two 7600gt graphics cards but i'm interested in upgraded to two 9800gtx cards and i also recently sent eVGA a question to see if the 3-way sLi bridge will connect these two cards when i only want to run 2-way sLi. They said no it wont work, so my question is.. the 9800gtx has two bridge connections.. when running 2-way sLi, do both have to be bridged together? In other words since i cannot use the 3-way bridge that came with the board, will i need another 2-way bridge to connect these 9800gtx cards or can they be connected during 2-way sLi with just a single bridge?

Err, yes it will. I use the Tri-SLI bridge for my two cards and it works just fine. Whoever told you that must have been crazy

single bridge will definitely work. I dunno about the tri-sli bridge- It might, but of course it would leave less room for other cards under the bridge.
