Wait what...?

Confusing, welcome to my new OC problem. Let's dive into it.

I decided to try the new Maximus Formula BIOS 1201 over what I had been using 0907 a while back. Screwed up the update fixed it life went on. Recently I decided you know I am not a newb let's get this done right. So i default my BIOS and update no problems. I decide hey even though I have my old profile lets see what this bad boy does stock. Load up 3DMark Vantage and I get:

P6482

**** yes old OC I was getting 5980 so sweeet. I am thinking let's load my oc settings. So we do that and

P5890

What the heck disable and I get the higher score hmmmmmm. Settings are:

CPU 381x9=3429 1.44v
Memory 4-4-4-4-12 2.1v @757MHZ

Pretty much everything else is AUTO. I honestly do not know what is going on. I tried several setting but all yielded crappy results as opposed to the stock settings. Now I am wondering did I FUBAR it somehow with the initial update I tried.

The old issue was I had all my old OC settings when I updated the BIOS it went for lack of a better word ape****. I mean settings were set to really off the wall settings. It was not a good situation even after a default of the BIOS the system was not stable and several other errors. Thats why I went back to the old 0907 BIOS and things were fine. This update however since I defaulted first there was really no issue but my fear is I FUBAR'd something the first time. Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated. Also if you need more info let me know I think I got it all in though.

A score drop like that usually means your OC isn't stable, or you've hit a gap in the FSB latencies. Try 8 x 401 and see what your score is.

I used Prime95 for about 17 hours when I originally did this particular OC now this was with a version even before 0907 I just kept using the same OC profile through different BIOS revisions. Should I be re-running prime after a BIOS update even considering I am using the exact same OC profile?
