Vendetta 2 fans.

Thread Starter
I'm buying a Vendetta 2 and was wondering whether to go for the Ultra Kaze or a slipstream. The Ultra seems awesome, thick, moves tons of air, high RPM. However, with an action, and equal and opposite must occur, and it sits at 45db. I'm also not aware if it will fit on the vend, I assume it will, but it is 38mm.

The slipstream moves a fair amount of air and is very quiet. Reasonable RPM's and I'm sure it would fit.

I'm leaning on the Kaze, but the noise level is very high. Honestly, I have most fans running at 100% all the time in my computer, and I have found that noise doesn't bother me at all, I'll just play music louder or something. BUT, I'm not sure how 45db's will compare to my current setup. For 1$ more, it seems like a good deal.

If youb have any other suggestions on fans, I'd be glad to hear them

You could always use the Kaze with a fan controller to lower RPM when not needed, or look at the 2000 RPM model as well. I always thought the Slipstream wasn't good for heatsinks due to back pressure but apparently some people find it alright and I'm sure it cools just fine, though I don't have any first hand experience with them on heatsinks. Another option is the Noctua P12, quiet, but pretty expensive compared to the Kaze or Slipstream.

As for the Kaze fitting the Vendetta 2, I think it should be alright since it uses those weird rubber things that you have to thread through the holes of the fan. The only possible problem I can see is that due to its thickness, the fan might get in the way of your ram slots (assuming you're gonna mount it flowing front-to-back).

Alright, I thought so. I have a fan controller, so that shouldn't be a problem.

I've heard some about back pressure, but what is it?

The Slipstream fans are terrible, I wouldn't recommend them. I'd probably take a good, hard look at the Panaflo M1 or H1 myself, they're excellent fans.

Reasoning?

Anyway. The Ultra Kaze arnt as loud as you would expect and yes they do fit the Vendetta 2, if you really are worried about the noise though just go for the Ultra Kaze 2000 instead of the 3000. 87CFM at under 40dBA..

Stick the UltraKaze on your vendetta. I would either use it with a fan controller, or a lower RPM model. The reason why the kaze is better is because it has higher static pressure, meaning it pushes more air through small spaces easier.
