I'm not 100% done yet, but I've been running the following fans in a little mini-shootout:

Scythe S-Flex SFF21F
Panaflo H1
Noctua NF-P12
Scythe Ultra Kaze 2000
Scythe Slipstream 1900
Yate Loon D12SH-12
Arctic Cooling AF12025
Stock Cooler Master RC690 case fan

All the fans are being tested on my Thermalright SI-128 SE.

So far the Slipstream has been overly loud for how well it performs, and doesn't undervolt very well. Maybe the 1600RPM units are much superior, but I doubt it. The Yate Loon at approximately the same RPM performs slightly better and also undervolts reasonably well (although it has more bearing noise at higher speeds), and even the S-Flex at 400RPM less performs nearly on par with it, and it's nigh on silent inside a case and at approximately 3 feet away, while the Slipstream is still audible all the way down to 1000RPM. Throw in the relatively high price given the fact that they're sleeve bearing fans with short lifespans, and they just strike me as being terrible fans. The Ultra Kaze units are also short-lived, but at least they're powerful given the amount of noise they make and undervolt rather well.

Seriously, the Slipstream fans are just not a good buy if you ask me. If they were as cheap as a Yate Loon I wouldn't be as harsh on them, but at the price Scythe wants for them, I find them to be an inexcusably poor fan.

I agree with this 100% They don't seem as loud due to the x38mm size...the air noise is just lower in pitch to my ears and less intrusive. Definately get a fan controller as you will probably not be able to control the speed thru your cpu mobo header (it's for 4-pin PWN fans...some mobos can/some cant control 3-pin fans).

I love the UK 2000 I have on my Vendetta (its a V1 not a V2)...I did not see a need for the 3000 unless you are super extreme.

I run my UK 2000 @ 1650rpm and it is completely silent and still pushes tons of air. Even at 2000rpm it's not bad at all, but my temps only went down by 1C or so. My small FFT load temps are at 47C and I am very happy.

And twistie ties will work if you cannot get the rubber pegs to hold it up properly...if I can do it on my Vendetta1, you can certainly do it on your Vendetta2, see here:

Here is a link to some testing I did on this fan and several others (including the Slipstream 1600rpm version)...you will find the temp differences and perceived 'quiet' noise levels interesting: http://www.overclock.net/air-cooling...-best-cpu.html

HA!! Yes, when people call it KRAZE, it bugs me too! I had an image of Chris Farley from SNL saying that just now....

...and now for the big question....doesn't 'Ultra Kaze' stand for 'Divine Wind'? Or was that for another Scythe product? I can't recall. +rep for 1st one to confirm!

Not quite. "kamikaze" means "divine Wind" (or close enough to that), with "kami" referring to the "divine" portion ("heavenly" is a closer translation), and "kaze" meaning "wind".
