ATI is going to be implementing Havok. No word yet if they will be denying NVidia Havok or not

Now I just need to hope the PC Power & Cooling 750w Silencer will work with two of these in Crossfire; having Havok and PhysX might be nice, supports even more games.

This is more than politics, it's business. If the industry adopts PhysX how long will it be before Nvidia wants licensing fees? AMD is not planning on using CUDA if they can avoid it for exactly the same reason. Before Intel bought Havok, they were the best option available - well known, already king of the hill, and they weren't one of their main competitors. I can see AMD shifting away from Havok now and trying to develop a true open standard physics API like they are doing with Intel, Apple, and a few others for OpenCL to compete with CUDA. Open standards levels the playing field - Havok will do in the mean time.

nVidia won the last round with the G92 core, ATI wins this round with the 4870.

And the world keeps on turning.

lol What? Intel bought Havok, correct? So is Intel lending them rights? News to me.

Lol, I just re-read your post.

1: Intel OWNS Havok. So any usage of the physics system has to come THROUGH nVidia.
2: How could AMD, who doesn't even own the system, DENY nVidia rights to it?
3: I think you need to stop flaming every single nVidia Enthusiast. Don't get me wrong, I will be switching to AMD/ATI for my next build, but seriously? It seems over the top...

who's gonna sue him? ati?

well thy are the only ones not getting what thy want
and i'm not shure we get what we want either

cuda, physx, havoc all sounds cool but doo we want another standard that one company owns the right's too?
EAX all over again, when cuda, physx, havoc goes to 2.0 and we are stuck too one company's hardware for 10 year's

no tnx

Sweet. The whole Physics thing must not be as complicated as I thought. Man this is such a kick in the teeth for Nvidia. I bet they are not pleased.
