CNPS9500 in a CM 690 on a GA-P35-DS3L?

Was just wondering if a ZALMAN CNPS9500 will fit in a Cooler Master 690, on a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L.

I have the ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro right now and it fits fine blowing the air out the rear exhaust fan.

To give you a picture of what it looks like, the ACF7 has maybe 1inch between my 120mm side fan, no room at all where the ram is because the fan is barely touching it, and maybe 1" above the ACF7 before it hits my 120mm fan up top.

Im concerned it might hit the RAM or it might get in the way of the NB since i have no extra room at all with the ACF7 already on it.

Which way is it supposed to be installed, blowing air up or through the back?

My friend had that same setup and it worked fine for him. Have the 9500 blowing its exhaust to the exhaust fan with the highest CFM.

Is it quite with the fan speed 100%

I consider the Arctic the better cooler of the two... so I suggest you just keep it

But to answer your question: yes, it'll fit. and let it blow to the back, unless you have a top exhaust fan right above it.

You will NOT get 30C load with the CNPS9500. Even a CNPS9700 won't do that (trust me.. I have one. It gives me about 50C load on an E6750 that runs at 3.4GHz.

No air cooler will give you 30C load, unless your ambient temps are really, and I mean REALLY low. That HAS to be an idle temp. I'd stay put with the Arctic, since 50C is a really REALY good load temp, and I wouldn't mess with it.

Pros: Zalman is the best by far, a e6850 at 3.8Ghz 35C idel 39C load, e6750 at 3.6Ghz 31C idle 35C load, q6600 at 3.6Ghz 36C idle never went above 44C load on a 4 cores. What else can I say besides to make sure you pair this up with some artic silver 5.
Maybe its just mine? Maybe I should reseat it sometime in case the Thermal Paste got messed up. Alot of people say they idle at average of 23C and load around 30C with the ACF7.

Where in the world did you see anyone on air with load temps at 30C?????? That just ain't gonna happen with a modern Intel chip, unless the ambient temp is sub-10C.
