The LT also has the JMicron RAID controller with two more SATA ports dedicated to the JMicron chip. The LT version also has a replaceable bios chip where the DK doesn't.

Thx, the x38 is only $10 more expensive. Can you explain JMicron raid?

EDIT: Also, it seems like these two boards come with thermal paste. I know this is for NB heatsink, but should I use this on my Tuniq? Or do I do you recommend to buy AS5 for both sinks?]

EDIT: I have my tuniq modded and have K8 cut off in order to fit the current mobo. This heatsink will fit on any of the two right?

just a better raid controller, and it gives you 2 more SATA ports.

X38 is kinda old news and p45 is only about a month old, that's why I wanted to give you the heads-up about it. the latest x chipset by intel is x48, but it's more expensive and doesn't really add as much functionality per dollar as it's worth.

The DK board doesn't have JMicron RAID controller. Most people don't even use RAID, so if you don't know what it is, you probably won't want to use it. On the LT board, you have two options for RAID: the ICH9R southbridge (which controlls the lower six SATA ports which are green) and the JMicron RAID controller (the two yellow SATA ports above the green ones). In my case I have two RAID-0 arrays, and having the JMicron RAID controller makes that possible. I couldn't do that on the DK board because you can only run one RAID-0 array on that controller.

I am interested on RAID-0 though, is JMICRON's increase noticible than traditional raid?

Can someone answer please?

Edit: is Artic 5 much noticible performance than stock thermal paste that x38 comes with?
