I don't understand why HL2 is such a cult classic. I mean what did the game do new, besides absolutely nothing? It's like "oh! lordy, give me a bunch of bad guys to shoot and a bunch of environmental puzzles to solve with common knowledge and I'll rave about the game foreverzes!!" from you guys. Seriously, what's the point of HL2 EP1, 3, 5, 2, 3, & 4 besides some new (and by new I mean over-used/reinvented) baddies and a bit more puzzle-troubles? I just think that developing a game like HL EP3 should take no more than 3.5 seconds considering everything that came before it.
