!@#$% PB Client not responding, CoD4/Vista64

Vista has been nothing but a pile of CRAP!!! Yeah, photoshop starts a little faster. WHOOP DE FRICKN' DO. So many things that are either messed up and/or simply not working.

Anyway before I derail my own thread... I am having a retarded problem with CoD 4. After 5-10 minutes of online gameplay, PB boots me and says my PB client is not responding.

I've looked this up on google and it turns out that a number of other people are having the same problem, with a few of them having it "magically resolved", but don't know how they fixed it. Whats in common with all these people? They all use Vista 64.

Does ANYBODY know what the problem may be and/or how to fix it?? First UT3 is broken and now this, FFS.

I've never had a problem with UT3 and Vista 64.

I'll give that a try, but I did not need to do anything like that in XP x64, it all just worked out of the box.

.....Yes, you did have to. This has nothing to do with the OS you were/are using. This is about PB, and the game. Nothing else.

Seriously. You have a problem with PB, and you get angry at your OS?

What? No, I did not have to use a manual PB updater in XP x64. It automatically updated itself ingame. This is of course assuming that this even resolves the problem.

CoD4 doesn't automatically update it's PB client. Period. Games like AA however, do.

Even if it did before. That wasn't because of the OS.

I had to update PB a couple of times with XP Pro. Sometimes it updates by itself depending on the application running it. And sometimes servers aren't up to date with the latest version. Either of these causes is probably why you've never noticed it before.

Well, on XP x64, CoD 4 was the only game I had that used PB. I never manually updated it, and I never had this issue. Anyway thats not the point of this thread.

I have updated it, and things seem to be working. We'll see for how long, if it happens again I'll be back.
