That was a joke, forget it

Anyway, it's either one of these things:

1. Some of your gamefiles are corrupted/changed (a reinstall will fix this).
2. Your harddrive has some bad sectors where the gamefiles are located (scan your harddrive for errors and if you find some let windows fix them and reinstall; if you still get errors afterward, get a new harddrive).
2. You have something loaded in your memory that punkbuster doesn't like (perhaps odd antivirus software).
3. Your memory is broken (test this with memtest86, if it gives errors, get new memory).
4. Punkbuster itself is messed up or needs an update (reinstall/update punkbuster for this).

Just disable you antivirus temporarily and see if you still get the error to rule that out.

I've seen harddisks that had bad sectors from the day I bought them, it is still possible, especially on overclocked systems that crash a lot

I had the same problem a week or so ago and thought P'buster was the culprit, however after manually updating it for COD4 (1.6 patch) I was still being kicked off. So as Wattes says - Try re-installing the game but make sure you save your player profiles beforehand, that'll save your rankings and game settings so you won't have to play it all again to get where you where. It's located at COD4> players > profiles. Just save the whole profiles folder and reinsert it after you re-install the game
