4850 vs 8800GT Cost/Value-wise

Thread Starter
Is the extra $50 for the $170 4850 worth the performance gain over the $120 8800GT? How so? (or not?)

The HD4850 demolishes the 8800GT, yes the 50$ is worth it.

The 4850 is a much faster card than the 8800gt, so its worth the extra $50.

Incorrect. The 4850 is for sure the better card, but not twice as fast.

I think its worth getting a 8800gt. I have one and it plays ALL of my games fine. 4850 is more "future proof" though
