Think about the parents, the sister, the family. It's not the same aI couldn't even finish the article much less think something so cold hearted... Grow the hell up.
The fact of the matter is the kid needed help. He needed help long before that dispute with his parents took place. This is a tragedy that happened to some one in real life, not a TV show or a game. I ripple effect is just hitting the whole family, the feeling comes in waves. Each one more powerful than the last, and more overwhelming.
People need to learn from these situations not make ignorant comments. This is a terrible thing...
Your right and your wrong. You chose my comment because it is so pointed, but it came from sarcasm which is sometimes hard to convey on the internet. I do feel for the family, but this kid was 13...not 8. He chose to do something to gain attention, not because he was depressed, so yes I have less sympathy. If I try to get attention by climbing a tall building and fall off would you be terribly upset. I mean there is a difference if he was deeply depressed and he did it intentionally. Now its possible I missed something in my reading of the article, I am fallible.
Now what can we learn from these situations, we read about them in an ever increasing number. Without getting into a lecture, there are so many problems with society as a whole and with parents today that, there a many many issues.
Just fyi, my comment was meant sarcastically, irrelevant as to whether it was appropriate or not. Also I am 27 years old, and a foster parent to a newborn and a 2 year old. But never would I allow my child to get to this point, either help would be attained or some other solution...like good parenting would have happened from the start, one or the other would have happened.
