Okay so First whats the lifespan of say a q6700 or the avrg cpu? and then how much does and overclock with increased volts hurt the lifespan?

Well, We can't give you any definate answers. A CPU should last over 10 years on stock voltage. Overclocking on stock voltage shouldn't make a difference to lifespan. Some argue over-volting can reduce the CPUs lifespan, although it will probably be obsolete and upgraded by the time any degredation is noticable. I would say you should still get 8(ish) years out of it if you keep voltages below 1.5v. But really this is all supposition because nobody can see into the future, it may not degrade for 20-30 years or it may degrade in less than 5, really its guesswork.
