O RLY?

Running on all my brand spanking new hardware (read: 9 months old) and playing on almost all Very High settings, getting about 35-40FPS in game.

So Crysis doesn't break any new boundaries... what else is new? ZOMG LETS ALL JUST BOYCOTT IT BECAUSE OF THIS!!!!!!!!!111one

And "Virtually no maps"? What are you smoking.... each map is huge and takes forever to finish, not to mention there's a huge community behind it that makes tons of awesome maps. (Crymod)

If you're going in to ANY game expecting the graphics of a Pixar movie, you're going to be sorely disappointed. And the intelligence of the AI in a game doesn't weigh upon your hardware, dude.

This is no rant or vent...just simple facts stating that we, the consumers, were abused by Crytek!

I'm not suggesting we go to their HQ and set fire to it...just don't buy any future product from this horrible excuse for a company
What did Crytek ever do to you? Jeez, you have a pretty bad attitude towards a company that worked their asses off for years to give you this product, and you virtually spat in their faces.

If you hate the game that much, don't play it. You obviously didn't do ANY research before buying the game, because every qualm you had with the game could have been found out by playing the demo, and you wouldn't have had to spend a penny on the game at all.

And Crytek gave us Far Cry, as well, one of the pretty highly rated PC games out there.

You're probably not gonna get a huge response from the community with an uneducated, rant-filled first post like that.

To be honest, I don't mind that crysis takes a heck of a system to play. The part that I DO mind, however, is how buggy it is. There are literally HUNDREDS of errors if I ever decide to open my console- little things mostly, such as there being no footstep sound on stone floors, or plane pilots standing and clipping through the canopy, but added up it gets to me.

The other issue is that sometimes the game will be VERY choppy even though I'm getting decent framerates (the little "minimum" counter is above twenty)- that's just unexcusable. Oh yes, graphical settings (mostly antialiasing) don't always take effect, which is very irritating as well.

Not to mention the part where the north koreans can take 17 shots to the body and still come at you...

Second fill in your spec

I played Crysis on my old rig with a mix of high and med setting if I remember right and @1680x1050, it played fine except for the last Boss battle. Only reason I couldn't play all on high was my CPU was bottle necking my GPU.

The game play and graphics were great, the story was crap but o well. I give it a 7/10.

They did what vary few games have ever done... make a game with graphics better then whats available. Lower the graphics and your fine. I do it.. Right now a $4,000 computer can run it with all the settings on full and get 60fps.

I gotta say that I loved Crysis. I didn't play it for the multi-player so I never even tried it. I just played the Single Player. I will say though that the end of the game kinda snuck up on me but it was definitely an awesome ride. I played with most of the settings on high the entire time with no problem.

I wouldn't say Crysis is horribly optimized. Most of us here own cards like the 8800GT or better and I can say that it can run Crysis at playable frames on high. Now that you can get a 4850 or 9800GTX for $199, I wouldn't complain about not being able to run Crysis. With new patches and tweaks, its probably even easier to run Crysis at better settings. As for my opinion of the game, I thoroughly enjoyed playing Crysis (single player). I didn't really get into multiplayer but single player was quite good. I am looking forward to playing Crysis Warhead.

I too found that the AI was a joke (Even on Delta), and they were far too easily beaten, I only died about twice in the whole game (Due to my own stupidity, as if I could be killed by some Korean).

Did anyone else find that the Koreans in Nano-Suits were pretty piss-weak as well. I thought that they would be really hard bosses, but they all died with either 1 or 2 Guass rounds to the head, or a clip of incendiary ammo.

I still found it to be an awesome game, and the views are simply breathtaking.
I can only run it playably on medium, but even still, It's other games " Very High" settings, so it's awesome.

Btw, some people can run it on very high playably, haven't you ever been to Nvidia's SLI zone. Some people running 3x 8800 GTX's or3x 9800 GX2's can get over 60 FPS. (Reportedly, but I believe the site is valid)

I would like to continue with the Trilogy, and get the next parallel installment of CRYSIS: Warhead, but I will wait to see what it demands, what it costs, and well it is received.

(I saw way more positives for CRYSIS than negatives, the main being that most people can't play it.)

If you think it is coded so badly, why don't you put out a version that IS coded better, and that "works". Yeah, that's what I thought!

Don't Get me wrong, I can see your disappointment in the game, with all the hype that surrounded it, you were simply let down...

But I don't see how Crytek is to blame. They made an awesome game, the best looking game out so far. The reason most people have trouble playing it is because Crytek had the FUTURE in mind.
Most games that are made for "todays" PC's are, well, crap in about 4 months, there's something better out, etc...
With Crysis, the only thing that will be better in the next 4 months is Crysis 2.
This way, Crysis will still be an awesome playable game for the next YEAR or so, and won't be superseded easily.
And by then, most people will have better computers that are equipped to play Crysis.

I might just play it for my 5th time now, tnx for reminding me how awesome it is!!!

This is rediculous! I can play it just fine on all high settings with the "Natural Mod" and get 30+ FPS as a minimum at 1440x900 on MY SIG RIG. That's a 6 YEAR OLD Socket!!! How is this game poorly optimized? What are you running.....a PCI FX 5200 or something? Even my guest gamer can pull it off on all medium at 1280x1024 with a Pentium D and an 8600GTS!

And the AI? C'mon now! I have a hard enough time just beating the first mission where you have to disable the radar thingy at "First Light". Granted I haven't really put much time into it yet...but my fiance played it also...again, just fine on all HIGH settings at 1280x800 with SLI'd 8600's and yet again....a 939 CPU at stock clocks (2.0GHz dual core).

SO C'MON MAN! This was one of the best titles out this year (okay last year)! It was so good...my broke ass bought TWO....count em....TWO COPIES of this game at $60 a pop.

I'd have to agree with everybody else here. Crysis was an EXCELLENT game. So what if you can't max it out? That's a good thing. For once, the software was FINALLY ahead of the hardware (cough 8800GTX / GTS G80's for a year and a half...cough).
