Yes, the BIOS chip is different and the chipset is different on the new MOBO.

Usually that triggers a new install and possibly needing to get a new key.

you will have to reinstall windows if u get any other board except the same one

If you reinstall your os then use ghost to restore your harddrive will it overwrite the new drivers? Sorry if thats a stupid question I'm rather new at this :-) I have also read you can do a repair install and retain your files?

It would be basically the same situation but just an extra step. Your harddrive is where all the files are for the drivers. If you ghosted your drives into your save, those old drivers will be there. the purpose of ghost is to make it seem like you never reinstalled windows and everything you put on there.
