stop bumping so often please. One bump every 24 hours. Thanks.

And I also recommend against DDR3... just a waste of money.

I'd go for a 4GB kit... it'll give you much more performance, since the added speed of faster DDR3 ram doesn't matter at all.

So far all I find on the UK sites are OCZ, Corsair and some Kingston. No thanks. When the real nice brands show up (G.Skill, Crucial, SuperTalent, Mushkin, Patriot), then I might recommend something. At this moment, nothing stands out to me.

I totally agree... If your mb supports both ddr2 and ddr3, then i would save some $ and stick with ddr2. I am running ddr3, and although i like it, i believe in hindsight i should have stuck w a ddr2 mb until prices dropped.

4gb of g-skill anything would treat you right...

C'mon guys, you need to comprehend the situation. He said he's got a 790i ultra mobo... which means he has to get DDR3. Trying to talk him out of DDR3 isn't helping.

To the OP: OCZ Platinums in any mHz, 1333-2000, will work. I'm waiting for the 2x2gb kits at 2000mHz to be more available/affordable so I can put em in my Striker II Extreme. But if you're set on running WinXP 32-bit then a 2x1gb kit, say 1600mHz, will be most cost-effective for you.
