I hope they aren't using actual diamonds... Its cheaper to use artificial ones. (Which are just as good as real ones, only not as "old" )

They are using diamond powder, which is generally made from industrial diamonds that are either artifical or not anywhere near gem grade.

They did not grind the diamonds themselves.

My point exacty. For 30$ you could sell your cooler, buy an IFX-14, lap it and the CPU, and behold temps 10C lower than with diamond dust.

I mean it looks really nice, the concept...''Diamond Dust'' sounds all futuristic, but IMO it isnt worth the money or trouble.

I think that it's impressive that they even attempted to do this. I have seen people modding their case and that cost money. If these results are true, imagine what you could achieve with a Lapped TRUE and Q6600? With that said, I have no idea on the validity of the source. Interesting read though +1 for the op

Well with a lapped TRUE, you would see a much lower decrease in temps, likely around 2-3C. A better example is using it instead of stock TIM on an unlapped stock heatsink, there you might get 6C.

If it was really a good idea to use diamonds, I'm pretty sure OCZ, Arctic Cooling or Artic Silver would have thought of it....I mean they're the experts and they wouldn't pass up on it if they knew it would yield better temps.
