Help with Computer Rig!!

Hello everyone! My name is Pablo, and I am new here =D… and well I have some questions on making my new computer rig and hope you can help me with… all suggestions, recommendations and everything is welcome =).. (don’t know if this is the correct or best place to place this post, sry if is not)

most concern about the power supply…and well graphics card...
I am thinking on making my rig into 3-Sli (hope I can make)... and well dont know what Power Supply to buy... I dont think 850w can do it (well to 3 cards that is.. but 2 I think a 850W one can do it).. correct me... so.. was thinking on a 1000w (to go with 3 cards)... and also with this one also power the whole rig...

Also with 3 graphics card.. can I put a sound card also? Like there will space to put it?…Considering my motherboard… EVGA 132-CK-NF78-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard ….

For the Video Card I want to go with a eVGA because of the Lifetime warranty…(plus I have a 6800GT and its been awesome) and also I consider that they have great cards…
So I am looking to buy 3 x 9800GTX… and well I think 3 of this would be so awesome to have and well if I cant at least 2 would be great also.. all this compare to 2 x 8800 GTS (since if I buy 2 of these later on I cant make 3 Sli, and well have to sell them and buy again new cards…)

So.. the power supply I am looking at these ones but don’t know which one to take considering all of this I am saying and also the rest of the rig (bottom are all specs and parts)…

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...orsair%2b1000W

wich one should I take, wich one you recommend, wich one do you suggest for the whole rig.… also go Modular or non Modular (the only Modular are the CORSAIR 1000W and the Antec TPQ-850 850w)

another question of mine is that I don’t understand the 6+2Pin thing.. what is it??

Thanks for your time on reading all of this.. sry if it was to long, but I want to make sure on everything before I make the buy, cover all things .. and well been doing reserch but also want to have some opinions and well you guys may know more than me and can help me a lot, better and more…

Once a again thanks for eveything in advance =D

Looks good. one GTX is 168w so 3x will be around 505W but they are all from 12v rails. Based on your list, 850w PSU should be fine but If your budget is fine, get one bigger PSU in case you have minor upgrade in the near future. Can't go wrong with one of PSU in your list but my vote goes to Corsair 1000HX. Also, Thermaltake 1000W or CM real power is a good PSU.

i would choose this PSU from friend telling me so...silent and powerful

i would go with a different case if ur going to but cathodes in... i would say an Antec Twelve Hundred for just a bit less...

what is ur total budget? im might make sugestions for other cooling soulutions

Which Card(s) are u going to use for ur Graphics? that would help somewhat

I have some other questions...
Which board would be better to upgrade to the EVGA 780i or the 790i? Also will ddr2 memory even work on the 790i? Will I see a performance increase over the board I already have below?
and also... if I go with 3-SLI....will there be a space to place a sound card?? the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional.. since this uses PCI Express ...whichmodo would be better...
been reading and I found this ins the sli forums... "The EVGA 680i and 790i have a PCIe x1 slot just above the first PCIe x16 slot which is where the APU will fit in a Tri-SLI config. The 780i did away with this slot, unfortunitly for many people, but like I said if this is important to you, do your research and get the right parts from the get go as the 790i brought that feature back."
so in other words I should go with the 790i? correct me if I am wrong...

thanks for the help

790i is DDR3 which is faster and more expensive than the 780i and DDR2.. i would recommend the 780i from eVGA or XFX ( they are the same) and something along 4gb kit of DDR2 ram

Board 780i :

ohhh ok
and also what about the sound card and graphics cards?.. will the sound card fit with 3 graphics cards? the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional + (dont know for example) 3 x 9800GTX in 3-SLI? in that mobo (780i) or it fits best in the (790i) or both?

thanks =)

What are you going to be using this computer for? 3-way SLI is almost pointless compared to 2-way, unless ALL you care about is benchmarking. For games, it is nearly useless unless you have a 50 inch or bigger monitor.

And no, you won't be able to fit a sound card, or any other cards for that matter, with tri-sli.

In my opinion, you would be much better off ditching the third video card and getting a good water cooling system for your CPU instead. That quad is going to bottleneck even dual SLI on any speeds you can get with that cooler, unless you live in the colder regions of Canada. Period.
