Since Everyone Is Doing It...... Help With New Rig..

Welll yeah as the title says I need help with a rig, since I had mine pretty much set up, but when I go to TD, I find out that the basis for my system is no longer available.....

If any of you remembers it was the $599 Intel x38 with q6600 2gb ddr3 and other crap, and when I finished with my whole rig it ended up being $1200.

So I was wondering If you could help me build something similar (or better), for a price close to the original one.

This was give or take the original one:

Intel Q6600 OEM
Intel DX38BT
Ultra M923 Full Tower ATX Case
Seagate 500GB 16MB SATA-300 Hard Drive
Ultra LSP650 650-Watt Power Supply - ATX, SATA-Ready, SLI-Ready, 135mm Fan
Corsair XMS3 2048MB Dual Channel PC10600

http://www.compusa.com/applications/...u=I69-2162%20D
$599

Diamond ATI 4850

$199 http://www.compusa.com/applications/...0&sku=D10-4850

Samsung 953BW 19" Widescreen LCD $199

http://www.compusa.com/applications/...&sku=S203-1963

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - OEM
Item #: N82E16835100007
Return Policy: Consumable Items Return Policy
$5.99

MASSCOOL FD08025S1M4 80mm Case Fan - Retail
Item #: N82E16835150007
Return Policy: Standard Return Policy

x10 = $12.99

XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler - Retail
$36.99

Plus an optical drive that doesn't matter that much

If you can make me something similar or better (while of course changing what you find unneccesary, or that can be improved), It'd be greatly appreciated.

PS: I'm glad that OCN exists, because people like me would be lost without having knowledgeable guys to ask for this kind of stuff.

You can build a better build. Do not get a barebone.

How do I make it better (I just saw that barebone deal because at the end it was really cheap)

Scratch the barebones. The ram is Corsair(crap), the Power supply is Ultra (Known for undervolting and instability) and the board is Intel (bleh).

Get yourself the following It should come out to about teh same.

Q6600 OEM
Gigabyte EP35-DS3L
2x2gb G.Skill DDR2 1066 ram
500 GB WD HDD
Corsair HX 520 PSU
And some coolermaster case

Much better build than the barebones.

I'd appreciate if some (or at least most were able to be bought at compusa/Tiger Direct), cuz I'll be flying to Miami on August, so that's when I'll be able to actually get the componets.

I don't think that I'll be able to spend more than $400 online (unless I can figure out a trick with VISA prepaid cards)

Visa PrePaid cards work fine online. Just use them as a regular credit card.

All those parts should be available at TigerDirect. Better yet, if your in Florida, order from Newegg.com.

Meh... TD doesn't sell G. Skill Ram nor the MOBO.

But hell I think I just figured out a way to buy on Newegg.

It's harder than you think...

To put it simply:

$400 online (no more than that)
$5000 physically at any store I can walk into (that's where I would be buying the prepaid cards to shop online)

Ha, it's a really complicated mess to shop online :S
